Ebonite, a hard rubber also known as Cumberland, was used to make some of the classic fountain pens of the early 20th century. Now difficult to find and expensive, Ebonite is nonetheless still used to create the finest writing instruments. The Lucca style rollerball features rhodium components with hand cast accents. It includes a ceramic tipped Schmidt cartridge for smooth, effortless writing. Rollerball pens use a water based ink that often delivers a bolder, more saturated line. A water-based roller ball refill is slightly more likely to leak in a pocket or purse and it can dry out over time, but you should generally not experience any issues as long as you re-cap the pen after use. It is otherwise maintenance free. Standard roller ball refills are available at office supply stores and stationers. Be sure to find a replacement that is the same overall length as the one you are replacing.MADE IN AMERICA.
